How do I cancel?
Through your Apple ID subscription settings on your iPhone, the same way as any other App Store subscription. Chimely keeps working until the period you have already paid for runs out.
What happens to my alarms if I stop paying?
They stop being scheduled. Your account and settings stay put, so resubscribing later picks up where you left off rather than starting over.
Why is there a subscription at all?
Chimely does work while your phone is in your pocket. Servers watch your calendar continuously and wake your phone when something changes, and that cost recurs every month whether or not you opened the app. A one-time price would fund it for a while and then quietly stop.
