These terms cover your use of the Chimely app and website. Using Chimely means you accept them.
What Chimely is
Chimely reads calendars you connect and schedules alarms on your device ahead of your meetings. It is a convenience tool.
What Chimely is not
Chimely is not a safety-critical system and must not be relied on as one.Alarms depend on your device's operating system, its battery and power settings, your notification permissions, your network connection, and the availability of your calendar provider. Any of these can prevent an alarm from ringing, and some are outside anyone's control.
Do not use Chimely as the only thing standing between you and something that genuinely matters — a flight, a medical appointment, a court date, medication. Keep a second alarm for those.
Your account
You are responsible for the security of the Apple ID or email account you sign in with and for activity under your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Access Chimely other than through the official app and this website, or attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or disrupt the service.
- Connect calendars you are not authorized to access.
- Use Chimely in a way that breaks the law or the terms of a connected calendar provider.
- Place unreasonable load on the service or attempt to circumvent limits.
Subscriptions and billing
Chimely is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the Apple App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID and renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel from your Apple ID subscription settings.
Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies, not by us. Prices may change, and you will be told before a change affects you.
Third-party services
Chimely depends on Google Calendar, Apple's push notification service, and other infrastructure providers. Their availability is not something we control, and their own terms apply to your use of them.
Availability
We aim to keep Chimely running continuously but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may change, and the service may be suspended for maintenance.
Disclaimers
Chimely is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chimely is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from a missed meeting, a late arrival, or an alarm that did not ring. Total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this may not apply to you.
Ending your use
You can stop using Chimely and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email before they take effect.
